For those new to firearms, this is a great place to start.  These questions are from students who have taken classes at CARRY312. 

Is there an age requirement for participation in the courses at CARRY312?   You must be at least 18 to participate.  If you want to apply for your Concealed Carry License, you must be at least 21 years of age.

Do I have to have a FOID card to take class?   No, you don't.  Many of our students are new to firearms and may not yet have a FOID card or may be in the process of applying for one.  If you don't have one yet, please be sure to add Pistol Rental to your cart to use one of our firearms for qualifying.

In addition to training, what other steps do I need to take to apply for my Concealed Carry License?    You'll need to complete an application, pay the fee for the application, submit a current photo, upload your completion certificate from training(s) and submit the transaction control number from your fingerprints (optional for an expedited application). This process will be covered in more detail during the 16 hour course.  Fingerprinting can be done at our partner range GAT GUNS or by a partner vendor at the classroom.  

What other states recognize the Illinois Concealed Carry License?  This is a topic subject to change as legislation changes.  Currently 24 other states recognize a license granted here in Illinois.  You can get up to date information at usacarry.com 

Is there any special gear I should have or wear when going to qualify at the range?     Safety is our biggest concern at the range.  You will be required to use both eye and ear protection when qualifying.  Those items are provided at the range if you don't have your own set.  You must wear closed toe shoes, long pants and a long sleeve shirt.  A baseball hat is a good option as well.  

Can I arrange for private or semi-private instruction?  Yes, it is possible to arrange a semi-private class for a small group or one on  one instruction.   Cost and schedule can be arranged by emailing us at info@carry312.com
